John Nicholas is an established, confident and captivating performer, who currently performs regularly across the South Wales scene. John has had many performing opportunities and experiences, playing many times in London and across various other cities in the UK (such as Bristol, Aberdeen, Inverness, Birmingham), as well as abroad (Dallas, TX & Buenos Aires, Argentina).  


Soulful, heartfelt and real – this is the music of John Nicholas. Hailing from the small South Wales town of Bridgend, John’s music is shaped by experiences, documenting the world around him in blistering poetic fashion. On stage, he is a captivating performer, using his unique voice to confidently tell the story of his music, forever keeping the audience wanting more. 


In early 2016, John released his first demo ‘Better Things/Pethau Gwell’ which saw the Welsh language version reach the C2 playist on BBC Radio Cymru and the English version won ‘Best Original Song’ award in the 2016 Open Mic UK Competition, in which he came second. 


In 2017 John started working with producer Lee House. So far ‘What Love Is’ and ‘Run Away’ have both been released off the forthcoming EP, ‘What My Eyes Fail to See’ (early 2018), and both tracks were play listed on BBC Radio Wales and have had a number of spot plays elsewhere. 


In 2017, John was invited on the ‘Coffee House Sessions’ and played at 19 universities across England as well as touring the release of ‘Run Away’ in September, where he ran each leg of the tour to raise money for Parkinson’s UK.
